This was really a small wonder: I grew it in half wine barrels, two plants per barrel, and it just kept pumping out little squashes all summer long, at least five or six per plant. The taste was good for a spaghetti squash, the yield was amazing and it keeps what seems like forever at just a bit below room temperature. As a matter of fact, I just now (november 2010) threw the last ones from the fall of 2009 away, that I had forgotten about in a basket and they were indeed a bit too dry to eat at this point. |

I love these little squash. They are so prolific here in my Texas garden. I have trouble growing other things but I had bragging rights after harvesting these. I was actually just purchasing more seed for nest years spaghetti harvest. They ripened beautiful golden in late July. |

This variety was inferior to two other hybrid Spaghetti squash varieties in our hot, dry climate. Flesh was thin and dry without much flavor. Looked quite a bit like a little pumpkin when ripe, though it would not stand up on the blossom end. Best use might be as an ornamental gourd substitute. |

I had such high hopes for this variety, but alas 'twas not meant to be. My nights aren't warm enough or season long enough. They were about half orange half still green when they season was over. I tasted one at this stage and it was just ..... there. Maybe it would have been better if it would have ripened. Maybe I'll give it some space in a hoophouse next year. Maybe not. |
