Dark red potatoes have excellent flavor and high yield. Some potatoes were larger than expected. Appearance and flavor were far better than those found in grocery stores. Blue ribbon winner at several local agricultural fairs. Storage has been quite good, and they are tolerant of sunlight.

This is the first time I have grown potatoes (Jung's) so I have no comparisons with other varieties. I only boil them and don't really need butter. Everything I expected in a new potato.

Norland Dark Red is the standard red-skinned, white-fleshed, early-season variety for North America. It ranks among the most popular of the red-skinned varieties. Small tubers are often graded out, by size, for supermarkets as "baby reds". This is an easy to grow, early-season variety, quite suitable for home gardens and for road side stands. It is a good general purpose potato.
