I am growing this variety in my place with less than 90 days frost free season and can get ripe tomatoes in August, red.

I was pleasantly surprised by this determinate last year. It was larger and later than advertised, growing to over 5 feet and maturing fruit in August. I grew it out with several other determinates from Eastern European sources and the New Yorker wound up being one of the best. Nice crop of round red tomatoes, sweeter rather than tart, perfect for freezing whole for use during the winter. For gardeners with short seasons or cool temps, determinates should not be overlooked and can be successfully grown in a 5 gallon bucket.
